midnight in shoreditch

had a bit of a midnight in paris moment on saturday night when my friends and i tried to find a bar to have a few more drinks in after we'd been kicked out of the pub we'd been in previously. lucky for us we spotted a warm looking little cafe under the bridge on kingsland road. walking through the door felt like you were stepping back in time due to the victorian decor and 1920's style music being played. definitely the kind of place you could spend hours chilling out in and definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.
we chose to drink whisky on ice till two in the morning...just make sure you take cash as due to the proper old skool cash register they dont accept cards...top marks for authenticity.

<3 street art

my favourite type of art is the kind you come across in the street. it's bold, it's unexpected, it's free to look at! and it always amazes me how it can transform a drab grey city scape into something fun and inspiring.
while in bristol over the weekend we came across a lot of amazing graffiti, including that classic banksy piece...you know the one...so i just thought i'd share some photos i took on my iphone x

felt like a right monki

i was lucky enough to receive an invite in the post to the monki party at their new carnaby st store to celebrate national women's day, and even though i wasn't granted a plus one i decided to head down on my own as i haven't yet had a chance to check out the new shop.
loud music, cocktails and lots of achingly cool looking people greeted me as i entered the store, so immediately feeling like a loser billy no mates i decided to grab myself a cosmo and have a look around and check out what monki has to offer on a grander scale than their small concession in selfridges.
all i can say is i can't wait to go back there on sunday and do some shopping. really great pieces and at really good prices. i also got some amazing false eyelashes, which luckily someone was kind enough to apply for me as i'm absolutely rubbish at doing it myself.
